Hour 8. Working with Other Task Views > Editing a Project in the Calendar View

Editing a Project in the Calendar View

The Calendar view is not designed for creating complex projects. This view is more useful for reviewing and printing tasks and the time frames in which they occur. As you work in the Calendar view, you might need to look up and modify task information. Instead of switching back to the Gantt Chart view, you need to know how to display and edit tasks in this view.

Note

Although the Calendar view is not a good view for creating the details of large projects, it's a great device for sketching out the major components of projects in initial planning sessions, when a group is trying to block out time on a calendar to see how long it will probably take to get it all done.

You can use the mouse to create the tasks quickly by dragging from the estimated start to the estimated finish. Then access the Task Information dialog box to name the task, link the tasks, and adjust task durations as the group debates possible scenarios.
