Working with Constraints

In Hour 5, "Defining When Project Can Schedule Tasks," you looked at the case where a task must be scheduled according to a modified base calendar in order to accurately reflect downtime or other work interruptions. Another category of special scheduling instructions you provide to Microsoft Project are those that tell Project about deadlines and fixed dates for individual tasks or groups of tasks.

A constraint is a limitation on the range of dates when a task can be scheduled.
