Finding Overallocations

Use the Go To Next Overallocation tool on the Resource Management toolbar to search through the project for the next date when an overallocation occurs. When an overallocation is found, Project selects the resource name or task name, depending on the type of view you are using. If you're in the Resource Usage view or Task Usage view, then after Project selects the row for the resource or the task, it also selects the cell in the timeline grid on that row for the date when the next overallocation occurs.

In Figure 15.4 I have just used the Go To Next Overallocation tool and Project selected the row for Mary's name on the left and selected her total resource work for January 17 in the grid. The grid entries below identify the conflicting assignments that contribute to the workload on that date and that must be adjusted to resolve the overallocation.
