Q&A

Q1:I linked two tasks and accidentally got the wrong task as the predecessor. How do I swap predecessor and successor?
A1: Sorry, but you can't reverse the roles of the linked tasks. You must delete the link and create it again.
Q2:When I try to link tasks with the mouse, the screen scrolls too fast for me to find the successor task. What can I do?
A2: When linking tasks that are not close to each other on the screen, it's often simpler to select the tasks by clicking with the Ctrl key and then using the Link Tasks tool.
Q3:I have two tasks linked FS and want to change the link to be SS. No matter where I double-click on the link line, the Task Dependency box doesn't display the task names of the two I want to work with. What am I doing wrong?
A3: It isn't you; it's the way the link lines are drawn on the screen. The problem you're having is caused by two or more link lines being drawn on top of each other, so Project makes its best guess as to which pair of tasks you are interested in. Use another method, such as working in the Task Information dialog box for the successor task in the pair you want to modify.
