Hour 16. Fine-Tuning the Project Plan > Filtering Tasks or Resources

Filtering Tasks or Resources

You can cut down on information overload by temporarily hiding tasks or resources you're not interested in at the moment. By applying filters to a list, only the rows that meet certain criteria will be displayed. So, another strategy for focusing your attention, and fine-tuning your plan more efficiently, is to filter the information so that you can view a subset of the tasks or resources in a list.

Filtering simply means that you set certain conditions so that only those tasks or resources meeting those conditions are displayed. For example, to reduce the tasks shown in a list, you could create a filter that shows only the milestone tasks.
