You can gain full control over what is displayed onscreen, and printed out, by combining customized tables and fields with filters and groups (from Hour 16, "Fine-Tuning the Project Plan" ). Tables can be customized the easy way—onscreen—or the more exact way—making copies of existing tables and modifying the copies. In the long run, you will save yourself time by creating and naming custom tables and using the View menu to switch quickly between them. Also, renaming generic fields for your own needs can turn Project into a true information repository for your project plan. Custom views can be the pay-off for taking the time to create customized fields, tables, filters and groups, allowing you to combine them into specialized views for different managers or to meet printing requirements.
