As I have stated before, the key to automation programming is working with an application's object model. VBA is a programming language, and as such, it can be written to perform mathematical calculations, manipulate strings, and make logic decisions and iterations. But without an object model to operate against an automation language, be it C, C++, or VB, VBA does little more than calculations and the displaying of dialog boxes. It is only when VBA begins to manipulate an application's objects that you begin to sense the sheer power and elegance of automation application programming.
