Chapter 2. An Introduction to ShapeSheet... > The Geometry Section of the ShapeShe...

The Geometry Section of the ShapeSheet

The Geometry section of a Visio ShapeSheet is perhaps the most diverse and complex section available. It can contain many types of information. This depends on which base object classes are being used to make up the SmartShape symbol's geometry path. For example, a geometry path may contain both line and arc segments. Versions of Visio from Visio 1.0 to Visio 2000 have an increasing complexity available to them as new object classes have been introduced to the SmartShape symbol. Additionally, a given ShapeSheet may have one or more Geometry sections.

Things have changed enough in Visio 2000 from Visio 5.0 that I feel it necessary to address each separately. I'll go through the possible rows in a Visio 2000 Geometry section first. If you want to see the Visio 5.0 version, I've repeated the exercise in Appendix D, “Visio 5.0 ShapeSheet Cells,” on the CD-ROM.
