Lesson 17. Printing Large Worksheets > Selecting a Print Area

Selecting a Print Area

You do not always have to print an entire worksheet; instead, you can easily tell Excel what part of the worksheet you want to print by selecting the print area yourself. If the area you select is too large to fit on one page, no problem—Excel just breaks it into multiple pages. When you do not select a print area yourself, Excel prints either the entire worksheet or the entire workbook, depending on the options set in the Print dialog box.

Note

Double Vision! When deciding which cells to select for your print area, make sure you do not include the title, the subtitle, and the column and row labels in the print area. If you do, Excel may print the labels twice. Instead, print your titles and headings on each page of your printout by following the steps in the upcoming section, "Printing Column and Row Labels."
