Lesson 7. Beyond Help > Going Online to Get Help

Going Online to Get Help

Although the Office Assistant is pretty helpful, sometimes it just can't help you locate the exact information you're looking for. If you have a connection to the Internet, you can go online and search Microsoft's own Web site for additional information. Follow these steps:

  1. If you have not already done so, connect to the Internet in the usual manner.

  2. If you can't find the topic you want after trying several times, select the topic None of the above, look for more help on the Web from those listed in the Office Assistant bubble.

  3. A Help window appears, as shown in Figure 7.1. If you want to explain your question further, type additional information in the text box and click Send and go to the Web.

  4. Because you're sending information to the Internet, you'll probably see a security warning. Click Yes to continue.

  5. You're connected to the Office Update Search site. Your question appears in the text box. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and you'll see some links to pages within the site that may answer your question. Click an answer to view that page.

  6. If you don't find an answer that fits, try rewording the question and clicking Search.
