Using Outlook Forms and Templates

As you already know, Outlook provides a number of different forms that you can use to create items for your various Outlook folders; there is an Appointment form, a Contact form, a Journal entry form, and so on. In most cases, you choose a particular form when you are in a particular folder; for instance, when you are in the Calendar folder, you open a new Appointment form.

You also can open the various forms that Outlook provides from the File menu, no matter which folder you are working in. This means that you can be in the Inbox folder, and still quickly open a new Appointment form. To open any of Outlook's available forms, select File, point at New, and then select Choose Form. The Choose Form dialog box appears. Select the form you want to use from the list provided in the dialog box, and then click the Open button.
