Setting Page Margins

The page margins control the amount of white space between your text and the edges of the page. Each page has four margins: left, right, top, and bottom. When you change page margins, the new settings affect the entire document; or, if you have inserted one or more section breaks, the current section is affected.

The easiest way to set page margins is with your mouse and the ruler. You can work visually rather than thinking in terms of inches or centimeters. To display the ruler, click View, Ruler or position the mouse pointer near the top edge of the work area to temporarily display the ruler.
