Staying Organized with Document Properties

Every Word document has a set of properties that provide information about the document, such as the name of the person who created it, the date it was created, and the date it was last edited. Some properties contain summary information that you enter, whereas others contain information that is automatically generated by Word. This information can be useful when you are trying to locate a specific document or to use a document created by someone else.

To enter or view a document's properties, follow these steps:
