Faxing a Document

If your system is set up for fax, you can fax a document directly to one or more recipients without having to print a paper copy and feed it into a standard fax machine. You can be set up for fax with a fax modem attached directly to your computer, or via your company's network. This saves both time and paper. To fax the current document, follow these steps:

  1. Click File, Send To, and then select Fax Recipient.

  2. Word starts the Fax Wizard, which takes you through the steps of preparing the fax, choosing a cover page, and selecting recipients. After entering the requested information at each step, click Next. After the final step, click Finish.

  3. If you requested a cover sheet, Word displays it. You can make any additions or changes to the cover sheet at this time.

  4. Click the Send Fax Now button to sthe fax.
