Creating a New Toolbar

You can create completely new toolbars, arranging their command buttons to suit your personal editing needs and work habits. Use the following steps to create a toolbar:

  1. Select Tools, Customize to open the Customize dialog box.

  2. Click the Toolbars tab.

  3. Click the New button. The New Toolbar dialog box appears (see Figure 27.3).

  4. In the Toolbar Name text box, enter a descriptive name for the toolbar.

  5. In the Make Toolbar Available To list, select where the new toolbar will be available. The options are as follows:

    • Normal All documents.

    • (Template Name) If the current document is based on a template other than Normal, the toolbar is available only in documents based on that template.

    • (Document Name) The toolbar is available only in the current document.

  6. The new toolbar will be created and displayed; it will be empty, of course. Follow the steps in the section "Customizing Toolbars" (earlier in this chapter) to add buttons to your new toolbar.
