Lesson 27. Customizing the Way Word Works > Customizing the Toolbars

Customizing the Toolbars

Word provides a number of toolbars, each containing buttons for commands related to certain document tasks (such as formatting or drawing). The Formatting and Standard toolbars are displayed by default, together on a single row under the menu bar. You can display each as its own row, if preferred, to permit the display of more buttons at a time. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Select Tools, Customize to display the Customize dialog box.

  2. Click the Options tab (see Figure 27.1).

  3. Turn off the Standard and Formatting Toolbars Share One Row option.
