Starting a New Blank Document

Many of the documents you create are based on the Normal template, which creates a blank document. As you learned in Lesson 1, "Getting Started with Microsoft Word," when you start Word it automatically opens a blank document for you to work with. If Word is already running, you can create a new blank document by clicking the New Blank Document button on the toolbar.

To start a document based on another template, follow these steps:
