Applying Special Font Effects

Word has a number of special font effects that you can use. These include superscript and subscript, strikethrough, and several graphics effects such as shadow and outline. You can also specify that text be hidden, which means it will not display onscreen or be printed. To assign special font effects to selected text or to text that you are about to type, use the following steps:

  1. Click Format, Font to open the Font dialog box (refer to Figure 10.1).

  2. In the Effects area, select the effects that you want. To remove an effect, deselect the check box. The Preview box shows you how the selected effects will look.

  3. Select OK.
