Moving Around the Document

As you work on a document, you often have to move the cursor to view or work on other parts of the text. Most of the time you'll use the mouse (as explained in Table 3.1). If the desired cursor location is in view on the screen, simply click on the location. If the desired location is not in view, you must scroll to bring it into view, and then click on the location.

To Scroll… Do This
Up or down one lineClick the up or down arrow on the vertical scroll bar.
Up or down one screenClick the vertical scroll bar between the box and the up or down arrow.
Up or down any amountDrag the scroll bar box up or down. The scroll bar box indicates what page you are on as you drag it up or down the scroll bar.
Up or down one pageClick the Previous Page or Next Page button on the vertical scroll bar.
