Controlling Line Breaks

Line Break Where text ends at the right margin and begins on the next line at the left margin.


The word wrap feature automatically breaks each line of text when it reaches the right margin. This might not always be what you want, however. Word offers a couple of methods for controlling the way lines break. You can, for example, prevent a line break from occurring between two specific words, thus ensuring that the words always remain together on the same line. These methods can be particularly useful when you modify indents and justification because this often changes where individual lines break.
