Lesson 14. Other Editing Tools > Checking for Misspellings and Typos

Checking for Misspellings and Typos

PowerPoint uses a built-in dictionary to spell check your entire presentation, including all slides, outlines, notes and handout pages, and all four master views. To check the spelling in your presentation, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Spelling button on the Standard toolbar (Alternatively, select Tools, Spelling, or press f7.)

If there are no misspellings, PowerPoint displays a dialog box saying that the spell check is complete. Click OK to close it.

If a misspelling is found, the Spelling dialog box appears, displaying the first questionable word with all the options for handling it (see Figure 14.1).
