Lesson 4. Getting Help > Using the Microsoft PowerPoint Help Window

Using the Microsoft PowerPoint Help Window

After the Microsoft PowerPoint Help window is open (from one of the Office Assistant's searches), you can browse the Help system on your own. If you have used an earlier version of a Microsoft Office product, you may be familiar with the Contents, Index, and Find mechanisms that used to be the hallmark of a Microsoft product's Help system. These are still available in Office 2000 programs like PowerPoint, but in a slightly different form.

If you are using an Office Assistant, the only way to get into the main Help system is by asking a question, as you learned to do earlier in this lesson. However, if you turn off the Office Assistant, as explained in the preceding section, then choosing Help, Microsoft PowerPoint Help will access the Help system directly.
