Lesson 4. Getting Help > Using the Office Assistant

Using the Office Assistant

You probably have already met the Office Assistant; it's Clippit, the paperclip that pops up to give you advice. Don't let its whimsical appearance fool you, though; behind the Office Assistant is a very powerful Help system.

Displaying or Hiding the Office Assistant

By default, the Office Assistant is turned on and sits on top of whatever you're working on. You can turn it off by right-clicking it and choosing Hide (see Figure 4.1). To redisplay the Office Assistant, choose Help, Show the Office Assistant. If the Office Assistant is ever in your way but you don't want to hide it, drag it with your mouse to a different spot onscreen.
