Lesson 15. Drawing Lines and Shapes > Tips for Working with Objects

Tips for Working with Objects

Here are some quick tips that can save you some time and reduce frustration as you begin working with objects. You learn more about manipulating objects in Lessons 19, "Positioning and Sizing Objects,"and 20, "Formatting Objects."

  • If you're going to use the same tool to draw several objects in a row, double-click the tool. The tool stays selected and you don't have to reclick it after you draw each shape.

  • To draw an object out from the center rather than from a corner, hold down the Ctrl key while dragging.

  • To select an object, click it.

  • To delete an object, select it and press Delete.

  • To move an object, select it and drag one of its lines.

  • To resize or reshape an object, select it and drag one of its handles.

  • To copy an object, hold down the Ctrl key while dragging it.
