Lesson 2. Creating a New Presentation > A Word About the PowerPoint Dialog Box

A Word About the PowerPoint Dialog Box

If you have just started PowerPoint and the PowerPoint dialog box is displayed, you are ready to start a new presentation (see Figure 2.1). From here, you can choose to create a new presentation using the AutoContent Wizard, a Design Template, or a Blank presentation. Just click your choice, click OK, and follow along with the steps in the remainder of this lesson to complete the presentation.

Unfortunately, this dialog box is available only when you first start the program. Once you close the dialog box, you won't see it again until the next time you start the program. That's why the steps in the remainder of this lesson don't rely on it; instead, they show alternative methods for starting a presentation if this dialog box is not available.
