Using AutoLayouts

While templates enable you to change the color and design of the presentation, AutoLayouts enable you to set the structure of a single slide. For example, if you want a graph and a picture on a slide, you can choose an AutoLayout that positions the two items for you.

If you prefer to place objects on your slide manually (without the placeholders provided by an AutoLayout), choose the Blank AutoLayout to create a blank slide, with no placeholders. Then place objects manually on the slide as you will learn to do in the upcoming lessons.
