Lesson 21. Using Notes Remotely > Creating Replicas Remotely

Creating Replicas Remotely

You need to work on a database that's stored on the server at the office, but you're working away from the office. You need a copy of the database on your own computer that can be replicated with the original on the server. Your first step is to set up your computer to work remotely (see Lesson 20, "Setting Up for Mobile Use" ). The next step is to create replicas of any databases you need to work offsite (including your mail database) if you weren't able to replicate them while you were connected in the office (see Lesson 19, "Understanding Replication" ).

Caution

Dial-Up Networking The instructions for calling in and creating a new replica from the server do not apply to you if you use Dial-Up Networking instead of dialing in directly to your Domino server. You should use the instructions in Lesson 19 under the section Creating a New Mail Replica to create your new replicas.
