Appendix C. Using Actioneer for Notes®5.0

Appendix C. Using Actioneer for Notes®5.0

Wouldn't it be great to create To Do's and Calendar entries even when Notes is not running? That's what Actioneer is all about.

Actioneer is a separate, add-in program that's routinely installed with Lotus Notes (check with your Notes Administrator if you don't have it on your computer).

The Actioneer program might be set up on your computer to automatically start when Windows opens, or you might have a shortcut icon on your Windows desktop that you use to start the program. If not, you can always start Actioneer by clicking the Start button on the Windows taskbar and choosing Programs, Actioneer, Actioneer for Lotus Notes, Actioneer for Lotus Notes from the Start menu.

Don't be surprised when you use Actioneer to be asked for a password when the program starts (see Figure C.1). Enter your Notes password. (To be sure this sharing of a password works properly before starting Actioneer for the first time, open Notes and choose File, Tools, User ID. Enter your Notes password and choose OK. In the User ID dialog box, make sure there is a check mark for the Don't Prompt for a Password from Other Notes-Based Programs option.)

Figure C.1. Enter your Notes password if Actioneer requests a password.
