Customizing the Standard Reports

As comprehensive as the supplied reports are, they might not meet your needs exactly. You might want to change some text formatting or the sort order in a report, for example. Because reports are a combination of table information, filters, and detail settings, this section shows you how to change these features in the supplied reports. If you prefer to keep the original report and create one that's similar to it, see the section "Creating a New Report Based on an Existing Report" in Hour 22, "Creating Custom Views and Reports."

Caution

If you follow these procedures and customize the supplied reports, the original settings are lost. To return to the original report, you must either re-edit the settings or use the Organizer feature to copy the report definition from the global.mpt.
