Updating the Schedule

The essentials of project tracking were discussed in Hour 17, but sometimes there's a major interruption to a project. Perhaps another company project has become more critical and all resources have been reassigned to it temporarily. Your project plan is still correct, but all or many of its tasks must be postponed. Project has methods for rescheduling uncompleted work on tasks in progress and for postponing tasks that have not yet started. Without these tools, each task would have to be modified manually.

Rescheduling Remaining Work

Tasks that have started but are not yet complete might need to have the unfinished work postponed. You could simply divide the existing task into two separate tasks and track them individually, but another way to represent the interruption is to split the single task into two sections:
