About the Authors

Tim Pyron is the Information Systems Manager for the South Central Region of Productivity Point International, a leading worldwide provider of computer training and support services. Tim provides consulting services and conducts training in Microsoft Project and in spreadsheet and database applications. His previous Microsoft Project books include Using Microsoft Project 4 and Special Edition Using Microsoft Project 98, which have sold over 140,000 copies. Ira Brown is the senior vice president of Project Assistants, Inc. based in Wilmington, DE. Ira is a leading authority in integrating Microsoft Project with other products, including the Microsoft Office suite of applications. In addition, Ira has many years of experience developing and implementing automated methodologies centered around Microsoft Project. Gus Cicala is the President of Project Assistants, a firm that specializes in administrating, installing, and training corporations on project management systems. His company produces "Project Assistant," an add-on product that customizes Microsoft Project to each company's specific needs. He is also a contributing author to Special Edition Using Microsoft Project 98.

Helen Feddema earned a B.S. in Philosophy from Columbia and M.T.S. in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Helen co-authored Inside Microsoft Access, and co-authored Access How-Tos for the Waite Group Press. She is also a regular contributor to Pinnacle's Smart Access and Office Developer journals and Woody's Underground Office newsletter.

Joe Habraken is a freelance writer and has served as an author, editor, curriculum designer, and software instructor during his career as a computer technology professional. Joe earned his MA in Communications from American University in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he has written the Internet 6-in-1 and the Complete Idiot's Guide to Access 97.

Laura Monsen is a professional instructor with more than seven years'experience teaching computer application classes. For the past five years she has been teaching a variety of spreadsheet, project management, database, and graphic application classes for Productivity Point International (PPI), a leader in computer software training solutions. She teaches at the PPI site in San Antonio, Texas. Laura is the author of Using Microsoft Excel 97 and Migrating to Office 97, both recently published by Que. Laura has a B.A. in Economics from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.

Jo Ellen Shires is an independent consultant and trainer who has been specializing in Microsoft applications since 1984. She owns Common Sense Computing, and has been designated by Microsoft as Project Champion for the Portland, Oregon area and for small businesses regionally. Construction and information systems are her areas of project management experience. Her firm writes and delivers customized training and programmed solutions to Project users at all levels in a wide variety of industries. She holds a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in Biometry.
