8.5. Placing Graphics Where You Want Them on the Page

You can anchor graphics to a page, paragraph, or character, or as a character. You can also place graphics in a frame and anchor the frame to a page, paragraph, or character. Which method you choose depends on what you are trying to achieve.

If you have automatic captioning of graphics turned on, then when you insert a graphic object, it is placed in a frame and a caption line appears below the graphic with whatever default content you have specified (for example, "Figure x").
