About the Authors

Nan Barber hails from Providence and holds a degree in Japanese from Brown, although she does most of her writing and editing in English these days. Her articles have appeared in publications such as Macworld and TheSpook.com. Nan is the principal Missing Manual copy editor, having edited most of the books in the series. She is managing editor for Salamander, a magazine for poetry, fiction, and memoirs, and lives with her husband near Boston. Email: nanbarber@mac.com.

Tonya Engst is best known for her work on TidBITS, a free email and Web publication covering the Macintosh Internet community, which she co-founded in 1990. Since then, Tonya has written several books about Microsoft Word, and numerous articles for magazines like Macworld and NetProfessional. Tonya works from her home office in Ithaca, New York. Her husband, Adam, works just across the hall while her son, Tristan, hangs out down the street at day care. You can reach her at tonya@tidbits.com or by visiting http://www.tidbits.com/tonya.

David Reynolds has been a Mac guy for over fifteen years, serving time as a Macintosh floor sales representative, a Mac consultant, an Apple Student Representative, and most recently as editor-in-chief of MacAddict magazine. Oh, and he co-wrote both AppleWorks 6: The Missing Manual and Office 2001 for Macintosh: The Missing Manual. If you'd like to reach David about this book—or anything else—send email to dreynolds@mac.com.
