Viewing Object Data

When Ty created his drawing in Visio, he included custom properties for the objects and groups of objects in the drawing. This information contains details about specific parts of the project, such as types of plants he’d like to use, details about the structures that need building, and so on. In the section “Converting the Drawing,” you saw Ty include these custom properties and how Acrobat obliged by converting them to object data.

Displaying Object Data

Acrobat 7 Professional and Adobe Reader 7 offer the Object Data tool, which can be used to identify and examine data embedded in the PDF file’s source file as custom properties. The Object Data tool—the single tool on the Object Data toolbar—is automatically enabled in this project because the file contains the appropriate type of objects.
