Chapter 6. Managing a Print Job > Big Bob’s Furniture Emporium

Big Bob’s Furniture Emporium

This is a story about Big Bob McGee and a printing issue he is facing. Big Bob has been in the discount furniture business for 40 years and noticed that in the last few years his sales have been declining, due in large part to the discount chain furniture stores that have moved into town. Big Bob isn’t going to take this lying down!

Big Bob decides that he needs to expand his advertising campaign, and maybe find a cheaper way of creating his ads as well. At the present time, his secretary, Sadie, types up the ads, which are then sent to various print publications where he pays for layout services. He already advertises quite heavily on local television, radio, and newspapers. He’s now intending to blanket the city with advertisements in every vehicle he can find—from school yearbooks to community club newsletters and local magazines.
