May I Take Your Order?

This is the story of Joe’s Deli, a progressive little establishment that does a booming lunchtime trade. Joe Morton (famed owner of said establishment) has been looking for ways to expand his business and become more profitable. Alas, Joe can’t physically expand his location because his deli is in the lower level of a heritage building in the financial district of a large city.

A few months ago Joe had the brilliant idea of offering a fax ordering option, and he printed menus for take-out and delivery orders that had been placed by phone. Now, he realizes that about one-third of his lunch business is from orders. He has hired additional kitchen staff, an order person, and delivery people to take care of the demand for his luscious pastrami—not to mention those big pickles.
