Chapter 9. Converting and Updating a Simple Form

We all have experience with filling out forms—often in triplicate! Simply put, a form is a structured document used to collect information. A label describes the content you are to type in a form field, or you are offered choices from pull-down lists, radio buttons, and the like.

Acrobat 7 Professional lets you manage forms in different ways. You can start a form from scratch, adding and configuring the text and fields in Acrobat. Or you can convert an existing form to PDF and add the fields, using the original form as a background or template for the PDF-based form. Alternatively, if you are working in Windows, you can use Adobe Designer 7, a forms development and authoring tool that is included with Acrobat 7.
