Chapter 12. Assembling a Library > Maintaining the Catalog

Maintaining the Catalog

Henry’s job is finished. The ARWU will find the cataloged documents much simpler to work with. The union should also realize savings in time and photocopying costs, and no one will have to search in vain for documents that are sitting on someone’s desk.

It’s important to maintain the index’s database too. The ARWU receives regular material from its parent organization as well as other sources that the IROs use for preparing cases. To add the content to the database, it may be simpler to add the new files to a separate temporary storage folder first, and then apply the batch sequence. This way Acrobat won’t rerun the batch sequence on files that are already processed.
