TIP 42: Saving a PDF as a Word or RTF File

Acrobat lets you save a PDF file in two formats that you can then use in Word or other document-processing programs. When the document is open in Acrobat, choose File > Save As to open the Save As dialog, and choose from Rich Text Format (RTF) or Word document (DOC) format based on how you plan to use the content.

Which Format Is Best?

If you want to use the document in Word, export it as a Word document; for use in another document-processing application, use RTF.
