Opening Documents

Once a document has been saved, you can reopen it to read it, modify it, or print it.

To open an existing document

1.
Choose File > Open (Figure 10), press , or click the Open button on the Standard toolbar.

Use the Open dialog that appears (Figure 20) to locate the file you want to open:

  • Click a view button to display the list of files and folders in list (Figure 21) or column (Figure 20) view.

  • Click an item in the Sidebar to display the contents of that item.

  • Use the pop-up menu above the list of files (Figure 22) to backtrack through the file hierarchy or open a recently opened folder.

  • Double-click a folder to open it.

Select the file you want to open and click the Open button.

Double-click the file you want to open.
