Changing Open Options

By default, Acrobat opens PDF files to the first page and at the Fit in Window magnification level. At times, however, you want a document to open to a different page or at a different magnification level. Setting these properties in Document Properties affects only the current document; the same properties can also be set among the Acrobat preferences, in which case they apply to all documents (unless overridden by the document).

In the Initial View pane of Document Properties, you can change settings not only for your pages, but also for the window it opens in and the entire user interface. These controls allow you to display or hide most parts of the user interface (the toolbars, the menu bar, etc.). But you can't rearrange controls or pick and choose particular toolbar buttons.
