Chapter 10. Forms > Adding Actions to Fields

Adding Actions to Fields

You can also add actions to a field. As explained earlier in this section, an action is some activity that Acrobat carries out when the user clicks or otherwise interacts with a form field. Each action has two parts to it:

  • A trigger, which is something the user does that initiates the action (for example, releasing the mouse button when the pointer is within the field's boundary)

  • An action, which is what Acrobat does in response to the trigger: play a movie, move to a different page within the document, execute a JavaScript. Acrobat has a large number of actions you can associate with a form field.
