Chapter 15. Automating Acrobat > Setting Batch Preferences

Setting Batch Preferences

Acrobat doesn't offer many batch-processing options, but the ones it does have can be helpful in streamlining your work processes, especially depending on which Security Handler option (no security, password security, certificate security, or Adobe Policy Server) you set.

To set batch preferences

1.
Choose Edit/Acrobat > Preferences.

2.
Choose Batch Processing from the list on the left (Figure 15.15).

Figure 15.15. Choose Batch Processing from the list on the left in the Preferences dialog box.

You see the Batch Processing options:

  • Show the Run Sequence Confirmation Dialog shows you the progress of the batch processing whenever you run a batch process.

  • Save Warnings and Errors in Log File saves a record of all the warnings and errors that come up when you're running a batch process.

  • Security Method determines what Acrobat does when it encounters a document that requires a password. If this option is set to Do Not Ask for Password, batch processing stops when Acrobat encounters a document with password protection. Therefore, it's a good idea to set uniform password security so you can run the sequence without stopping.

3.
Make any changes, and click OK.
