Chapter 8. Advanced Commenting > Using Dimensioning Markup

Using Dimensioning Markup

The Dimensioning Markup tool lets you add lines between two points on a PDF document. Use this feature to create measuring lines for objects in your PDF. For example, if you have a blueprint PDF or a house plan PDF, use the Dimensioning markup tool to add the dimension lines and measurements directly on your PDF document.

To add dimension lines to an object

1.
Open the Drawing Markups toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Drawing Markups.

2.
Choose the Dimensioning tool from the toolbar (Figure 8.25).

3.
Click and drag along the area where you want to set dimension lines (Figure 8.26).

Figure 8.26. To add dimension lines to your PDF, drag with the Dimensioning tool. In this figure, the line is on the left side of the drawing.

When you release the mouse button, the dimension line and arrows show up (Figure 8.27). There will be a blinking cursor in the middle of the dimensioning lines. This is where you will enter the measurement for the dimension line.
