Creating a File Attachment

You can attach any type of file to a PDF document using the Advanced Commenting toolbar. It could be an image, a spreadsheet, or another PDF file. In some cases, you might even want to attach the non-PDF source file to the PDF document.

To attach another file to a PDF document

1.
With a document open, choose Attach a File as a Comment from the Comment-ing toolbar (Figure 7.54).

Click in the PDF document where you'd like to attach the file.

The Add Attachment dialog box appears (Figure 7.55).

Navigate to the file you want to attach, and click Select.

The File Attachment Properties dialog box appears (Figure 7.56).

In the Appearance tab, select the icon you would like to use, and its opacity and color.

If you like, type a description and other information in the General tab (Figure 7.57).

Click Close.

The file is attached to the document. When you click the Attach file icon (which can be a paperclip, graph, push pin, or a tag), the attached file will open.
