Using the Text Box Tool

Starting with Version 6.0 of Acrobat you have been able to add comments directly to a page using the Text Box tool. Most text edits done with other editing tools show up as a highlight, strikethrough, or icon, plus a comment in a pop-up window; the Text Box tool's comments are right there on the page. It's like writing right on a paper document, as opposed to adding a sticky note to the paper. Double-click a text box to edit its properties.

To use the Text Box tool

1.
Select the Text Box tool in the Drawing Markups toolbar. If the toolbar isn't showing, choose View > Toolbars > Drawing Markups (Figure 7.29).

Click and drag a box out to the desired size.

Type your comment (Figure 7.30).
