Chapter 2. Acrobat In Depth > Reading eBooks

Reading eBooks

Now that you have downloaded an eBook, you can open it up and read it. Once you have a few books in your bookshelf, you'll be able to choose any book to read at your leisure. Acrobat's simple interface makes it easy to view eBooks.

To read an eBook

1.
Choose Advanced > Digital Edition > My Digital Editions.

The My Digital Editions window appears.

Click to select one of the eBooks you downloaded, then click the Read button (Figure 2.36).

Double-click a book in your bookshelf.

The book opens to display the cover.

To turn the page, click the Next Page button in the status bar or press the down arrow on your keyboard.

To jump to a specific page, click in the Page Number field in the status bar and type in the page number (Figure 2.37).

Open the Pages pane to display thumbnails of all the book's pages, and click the thumbnail of whichever page you'd like to read.

The page will be displayed in the reading area.

When you've finished reading, choose File > Close (Ctrl+W/Command+W) to close it, or choose Advanced > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions to pick another eBook.
