Converting a PDF page to an image format file

Earlier in this lesson, you copied the text and images in the poster so that you can repurpose the content for your web page, but you may also want to have an image of the poster. You can easily create a TIFF version of the poster.

Converting PDF pages to image files

1.
In Acrobat, select the Hand tool.

2.
Choose File > Save As, and choose TIFF for Save as Type (Windows) or Format (Mac OS). Rename the file FreshWater1.tif.

3.
Click Settings to review the monochrome, grayscale, and color settings, as well as the color management, colorspace, and resolution options. (For information on these Settings options, see “Copying images” in the Complete Acrobat 7.0 Help.) Click Cancel to use the default settings.

4.
Click Save to convert the poster to TIFF format.

You can experiment with different Settings values and compare file size and image quality for the Settings you choose.

You can open and view the FreshWater1.tif file. When you are finished, close the TIFF files and the associated viewing application.
