Chapter 8. More on Editing PDF Files > Copying text and images from a PDF file

Copying text and images from a PDF file

Even if you no longer have access to the source file for your poster, you can reuse the text and images in other applications. For example, you might want to add some of the text or images to a web page. You can copy the text out of the PDF file in rich text format so you can import it into a different authoring application for reuse. You can save images in the file in JPEG or PNG format.

If you want to reuse only small amounts of text or one or two images, you can copy and paste text from a PDF file and copy images to the clipboard or to an image format file using the Select tool. (If the Copy, Cut, and Paste commands are grayed out, the creator of the PDF may have set restrictions on editing the content of the document.)
