About flexibility

An Adobe PDF file is considered to be flexible when the content can be easily reused—that is, content can be reflowed for viewing on non-traditional monitors, such as hand-held devices, and when tables, text, and graphics can be exported for use in other applications if allowed by the creator of the Adobe PDF file. The degree of flexibility of a PDF file depends on the underlying logical structure of the document. (See “Reflowing a flexible PDF file” and “Saving as accessible text” in this lesson.)
